Salaam waleykum, dear readers!
It’s looking like a good week for us, alhamdulillah! Muslimah Media Watch earned an Honorable Mention at the fourth annual Brass Crescent Awards! We’d like to thank all of our readers, who provide us with new viewpoints and great comments, and we’d like to thank all those who voted for us!
We still have a lot of growing to do here. By the time next year’s Brass Crescents roll around, we’d like to have a fancier page, more contributors, and more readers! We appreciate your suggestions, tips, and feedback. On the subject: does anyone know how to insert a search thingy that readers can use to search through our old posts?
More good news: King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has released the Qatif girl from her sentence! Allahu akbar!
In other news, here’s a link to get your blood boiling. Danielle Crittenden (see last week’s “The Veil Does Not a Prison Make”) continues with her Islamophobic garbage: her latest is why the veil is “a threat”. (sigh) Just…ugh.
Also, you may remember our guest posts about the British drama series Britz. Mr. Andy Favell, the editor for Channel 4’s new program The TV Show, emailed me to let me know that the discussion is continuing online, and invited us all to join it. Click on the link in the email if you’re interested. Here is the email:
“I am the editor of website for Channel 4’s new programme: The TV Show.
The first show included a debate on how Muslims are represented on TV,
this debate is continuing online.
Noticing your interest on the Channel 4 show Britz and your remit in
general, I thought you and your readers might be interested in joining
in this discussion.

debate next year.
